FAU presents "Jazz, Jazz, and more Jazz!"
FAU Jazz Combos is proud to present “Jazz, Jazz, and more Jazz” on April 7, 2026!
Jazz Combos have played a significant role in the history of jazz, particularly as the big band era waned and smaller, more intimate groups gained popularity. These ensembles provide a valuable training ground for musicians to develop their improvisational skills, learn to interact with other musicians, and explore the nuances of jazz harmony and rhythm. Not only are they a vibrant and essential part of the jazz tradition, but they also offer a space for creative expression, improvisation, and close musical collaboration. Please join Directors Andrés Espinoza Agurto and Courtney D. Jones as they showcase the musical talents of our students.

Make & Muse: iPhoneography
Join the Boca Raton Museum of Art for “Make & Muse: iPhoneography” on April 11, 2026!
Sharpen your eye and learn how to elevate your family and travel photos during this hands-on workshop for adults. The program begins with a spotlight tour of Eduardo Chacon: Postcards From Nowhere, using works from the exhibition to explore core elements of photography, including light, composition, contrast, and point of view.
Following the gallery experience, photographer and Art School Instructor Jerry Ginsberg will lead a 90-minute presentation focused on creating stronger images with the camera you already carry in your pocket. Participants will learn foundational principles of effective image-making—drawing inspiration from photographers such as Ansel Adams, Joe Lange, and Henri Cartier-Bresson—along with practical strategies for getting closer to your subject, framing more intentionally, and seeing more deliberately. The workshop will introduce useful features of iPhone 16 and 17 camera software. While iPhones will be discussed, the concepts apply to many camera phones. No prior photography experience required.

FAU's Theatre Lab presents Inferna
FAU’s Theatre Lab is proud to present the world premiere “Inferna” by Joanna Castle Miller from April 11-26, 2026!
One night, on the mostly empty stage of a theater, a young playwright (Castle Miller) and a male actor who has agreed to assist her, take a deep dive into her childhood - specifically how church activities and school plays both provided “scripts” she faithfully followed each step of the way. Over the course of the evening, through comedic re-enactments, music, and sharing of stories, they begin to unravel and more fully understand the unstated and pervasive lessons learned from the texts passed down to her and that the mentors she adored aren’t who they appeared to be.
We close out our 25-26 season with another stunning world premiere - featuring this incredible playwright/performer in the second show of a planned trilogy! Developed in residency with New York Stage and Film and workshopped through the Valdez Theatre Conference, Inferna, echoes award-winning autobiographical plays like What the Constitution Means to Me and How I Learned to Drive in its explorations of trauma, forgiveness, and the often absurd comedy of being a child.
Executive Producers: Richard Carpenito.

Originally formed at the Eastman School of Music, the Muse Duo brings a fresh voice to contemporary chamber music through the unique pairing of guitarist Collin Holloway and pianist-composer Luke Benedict. Just months after their first collaboration, the duo launched a U.S. tour and has since appeared at festivals and series including the Lynn New Music Festival, Off the Dock Chamber Festival, and the Shellpoint Young Artist Series.
Dedicated to expanding the repertoire, the duo performs primarily Luke’s original works—featured on their debut album, Experiments—which blend melodic clarity, neo-classical influence, and modern rhythmic flair. Through inventive collaborations and adventurous programming, the Muse Duo offers a dynamic new perspective on chamber music today.

Facing displacement, violence, economic hardship, and political upheaval, these women endured extraordinary challenges while holding families and communities together.
Through powerful accounts and historical insight, Dr. Smith reveals how their resilience and sacrifices were essential to the Revolutionary era, even as their contributions went largely unrecognized.
Join us for an eye-opening exploration of courage, survival, and the human cost of revolution.

Marcus King Band at Mizner Park Amphitheater
Enjoy Marcus King Band at Mizner Park Amphitheater on May 31, 2026!
GRAMMY-nominated country-americana star Marcus King will hit the road this summer with his powerhouse band for the Darling Blue Pt. 2 Tour, a 39-city run across the U.S. and Canada. Joined by special guests Penelope Road and Willow Avalon for select dates, the tour will make stops in major markets including New York City, Chicago, Boston and Atlanta, highlighted by Marcus King Band and Friends, a hometown show at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium on May 27.
King closed out 2025 with the release of his highly-anticipated new album, Darling Blue, deemed one of “Nashville’s Best Albums of 2025” by The Tennessean. The record goes through the peaks and valleys of King, taking listeners through his love for the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as his state of mind before and after he met his wife, Briley. Forbes praised the album as “a collection of standout tunes that straddle the line between old-school rock rowdiness and time-tested country twang,” while Country Central complimented its “signature, undefined flair of Southern steadiness that King uses to flit between the blues, soul and down the middle cowboy crooners, all with the flick of a guitar pick.”

Morning Makers: Say it in Color
Enjoy “Morning Makers: Say it in Color” at the Boca Raton Museum of Art on April 4, 2026!
Offered monthly on Saturday mornings, this is a creative family program inspired by artworks currently on view. After a guided gallery experience, families head to the studio for a hands‑on project led by a teaching artist, where children become the artist and bring their ideas to life! Each session features a new theme, artwork, and artmaking experience. Designed for children ages 5–12. Preregistration is required.
In April, families will explore Mel Bochner’s Blah Blah Blah (2019) in the exhibition Modernisms: Art from the Manes Collection, noticing how bold letters and color turn phrases and words into expressive art. Together, participants will look closely at how language and paint work together to communicate meaning. After the gallery visit, teaching artist Glenda Lubiner will lead a studio activity inspired by Bochner’s expressive use of text. Families will choose a meaningful word or short phrase and bring it to life using color and energetic brushstrokes, encouraging personal expression and creative experimentation.
