Approximately 170 artists nationwide are selected to showcase their fine artworks in various mediums, including ceramics, wood, fiber, glass, drawing, painting, mixed media, jewelry, photography, and sculpture. 

The Boca Museum of Art Festival is the ONLY art festival affiliated with the Boca Raton Museum of Art and the ONLY art festival permitted the full breadth of Mizner Park.

Young Joanna knows all the Jewish prayers – and how they’re really about Jesus. That’s because, many years ago, her mother, who wanted to be a rabbi, converted to evangelicalism through Jews for Jesus. As a result, young Joanna learns all the tricks of Christian missions, eventually becoming a missionary herself. That’s because, many years ago, her mother, who wanted to be a rabbi, converted to evangelicalism through Jews for Jesus. As a result, young Joanna learns all the tricks of Christian missions, eventually becoming a missionary herself. But when something ancient draws her away, to the traditions she never learned and histories she never studied, she finds herself in a tiny village where, centuries ago, her father’s father’s father faced a similar crossroads and made a very different choice.

FAU’s Theatre Lab is proud to present the world premiere of “Conversa” by Joanna Castle Miller from February 7-22, 2025!

Young Joanna knows all the Jewish prayers – and how they’re really about Jesus. That’s because, many years ago, her mother, who wanted to be a rabbi, converted to evangelicalism through Jews for Jesus. As a result, young Joanna learns all the tricks of Christian missions, eventually becoming a missionary herself. But when something ancient draws her away, to the traditions she never learned and histories she never studied, she finds herself in a tiny village where, centuries ago, her father’s father’s father faced a similar crossroads and made a very different choice.

Castle Miller, a playwright, performer, and expert in the Jewish History of Spain, performs this one-woman, tour-de-force, auto-biographical tale of her upbringing in the evangelical church and subsequent return to Judaism. A special finalist with the Jewish Plays Project, the title references the term used to describe those Jews who converted to Christianity around the time of the Inquisition rather than face exile from their homeland. CONVERSA is about identity, migration, change, and the echoes of history which call us home.

Jeff and Hunter, two struggling writers, hear about a new musical theatre festival. However, the deadline for submissions is a mere three weeks away. With nothing to lose, the pair decides to try to create something new with the help of their friends Susan, Heidi and Larry on the eighty-eights. With the cast in place, Jeff and Hunter begin a conversation about what to write about. Eventually, Jeff suggests they write about what to write about. They make a pact to write up until the festival's deadline and dream about the show changing their lives. [title of show] ‐‐ taken from the space on the festival's application form which asks for the [title of show] ‐‐ follows Hunter and Jeff and their friends on their journey through the gauntlet of creative self-expression the span of 90 minutes they write and perform their show at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists.

FAU’s Theatre Lab is proud to present the world premiere of “Conversa” by Joanna Castle Miller from February 7-22, 2025!

Young Joanna knows all the Jewish prayers – and how they’re really about Jesus. That’s because, many years ago, her mother, who wanted to be a rabbi, converted to evangelicalism through Jews for Jesus. As a result, young Joanna learns all the tricks of Christian missions, eventually becoming a missionary herself. But when something ancient draws her away, to the traditions she never learned and histories she never studied, she finds herself in a tiny village where, centuries ago, her father’s father’s father faced a similar crossroads and made a very different choice.

Castle Miller, a playwright, performer, and expert in the Jewish History of Spain, performs this one-woman, tour-de-force, auto-biographical tale of her upbringing in the evangelical church and subsequent return to Judaism. A special finalist with the Jewish Plays Project, the title references the term used to describe those Jews who converted to Christianity around the time of the Inquisition rather than face exile from their homeland. CONVERSA is about identity, migration, change, and the echoes of history which call us home.

Set on a mystical island, the play follows Prospero, the former Duke of Milan, who uses his magical powers to conjure a tempest that shipwrecks his enemies, including his treacherous brother Antonio and King Alonso of Naples. As the story unfolds, Prospero's daughter Miranda falls in love with Ferdinand, the King's son, while Prospero confronts his past and ultimately chooses forgiveness over revenge.

With nothing to lose, the pair decides to try to create something new with the help of their friends Susan, Heidi and Larry on the eighty-eights. With the cast in place, Jeff and Hunter begin a conversation about what to write about. Eventually, Jeff suggests they write about what to write about. They make a pact to write up until the festival's deadline and dream about the show changing their lives. [title of show] ‐‐ taken from the space on the festival's application form which asks for the [title of show] ‐‐ follows Hunter and Jeff and their friends on their journey through the gauntlet of creative self-expression the span of 90 minutes they write and perform their show at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

FAU’s Theatre Lab is proud to present the world premiere of “Conversa” by Joanna Castle Miller from February 7-22, 2025!

Young Joanna knows all the Jewish prayers – and how they’re really about Jesus. That’s because, many years ago, her mother, who wanted to be a rabbi, converted to evangelicalism through Jews for Jesus. As a result, young Joanna learns all the tricks of Christian missions, eventually becoming a missionary herself. But when something ancient draws her away, to the traditions she never learned and histories she never studied, she finds herself in a tiny village where, centuries ago, her father’s father’s father faced a similar crossroads and made a very different choice.

Castle Miller, a playwright, performer, and expert in the Jewish History of Spain, performs this one-woman, tour-de-force, auto-biographical tale of her upbringing in the evangelical church and subsequent return to Judaism. A special finalist with the Jewish Plays Project, the title references the term used to describe those Jews who converted to Christianity around the time of the Inquisition rather than face exile from their homeland. CONVERSA is about identity, migration, change, and the echoes of history which call us home.

Jeff and Hunter, two struggling writers, hear about a new musical theatre festival. However, the deadline for submissions is a mere three weeks away. With nothing to lose, the pair decides to try to create something new with the help of their friends Susan, Heidi and Larry on the eighty-eights. With the cast in place, Jeff and Hunter begin a conversation about what to write about. Eventually, Jeff suggests they write about what to write about. They make a pact to write up until the festival's deadline and dream about the show changing their lives. [title of show] ‐‐ taken from the space on the festival's application form which asks for the [title of show] ‐‐ follows Hunter and Jeff and their friends on their journey through the gauntlet of creative self-expression the span of 90 minutes they write and perform their show at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists.

Set on a mystical island, the play follows Prospero, the former Duke of Milan, who uses his magical powers to conjure a tempest that shipwrecks his enemies, including his treacherous brother Antonio and King Alonso of Naples. As the story unfolds, Prospero's daughter Miranda falls in love with Ferdinand, the King's son, while Prospero confronts his past and ultimately chooses forgiveness over revenge.

Doug Mills is the senior photographer in the Washington Bureau for The New York Times, focused on the White House. He’s photographed presidents and presidential campaigns for four decades, first for United Press International and The Associated Press and since 2002 as a member of The Times’s Washington bureau. Mills recently won his third Pulitzer Prize for photography with coverage of the assassination attempt of President Donald Trump in Butler, PA.
