Beyond the Incas: Understanding the Art of the Ancient Andes

  • Boca Raton Innovation Campus 5000 T-Rex Avenue Boca Raton, FL, 33431 United States (map)

Learn about Andean cultures at the Boca Raton Museum of Art’s public lecture “Beyond the Incas: Understanding the Art of the Ancient Andes.”

You've heard of the Incas, but how familiar are you with earlier Andean cultures such as the Moches, Lambayeques, and Chimús? Come learn from Dr. Andrew James Hamilton, Associate Curator of Arts of the Americas at the Art Institute of Chicago, as he deciphers objects and symbols from ancient civilizations and enlightens attendees on the magnificent art presented in the exhibition, Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru, from the collection of the Museo Larco in Lima, Peru.

Ticket reservation is required for this event.

Sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture and the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional in-kind support provided by Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) and the Waterstone Resort.
