June 3: “The Jews of Boca Raton - a Historical Overview” by Miriam Sanua Dalin
Miriam will share lessons learned from our project to document the history of the Jewish community in Boca Raton.
June 10: “Boca de Ratones: An Etymological Reassessment” by Humberto Ruiz
Humberto will reveal the findings of his intensive research on the origin of our city’s name.
June 17: “The Storm of 1928” by Eliot Kleinberg
Learn about one of Florida’s worst national disasters and how it impacted the people of Palm Beach County from journalist and historian Eliot Kleinberg.
June 24: “The Lazzari Murders” by Sally Ling
Sally will explore Boca Raton’s coldest of cold cases, the murder of Leno and Louise Lazzari in 1946.
July 1: “Africa U.S.A.” by Ginger Pedersen
Join Africa U.S.A. founder Jon Pedersen’s granddaughter, Ginger, for a look back at this popular attraction, which gained national attention for little Boca Raton.
