Join Sugar Sand Park Community Center for Bricks, Bots, & Beakers Summer Program!

Bricks, Bots, & Beakers features three in-person week-long sessions focused on different special topics of interest:

Bugs

Participants age 5–11 will take part in activities including Insect or Not, What Foods Do Ants Like, and Cricket Chirper. We will study live insects including ladybugs, crickets, ants, and butterflies. We will have labs, play games, make crafts, sing songs, and more!  Materials Fee $25 (supplies for crafts and activities, butterflies, magnifying bug viewer) payable to the instructor on the first day of camp. Please bring a lunch, snacks, and a beverage.

Arkidtecture

Participants age 5–12 will test materials, meet design constraints, and dream up amazing structures using a variety of different materials. Activities include testing column strength, design a floor plan, build an edible bridge, design and build a roller coaster, build a treehouse, and more! Materials Fee $25 (Keva planks, Keva cards, construction materials) payable to the instructor on the first day of camp. Please bring a lunch, snacks, and a beverage.

Zany Zoology

This fun camp teaches kids age 5– 11 who want to be veterinarians, or who just love animals, about some of the “Amazing Creatures” of the animal kingdom. The camp features experiments, simulations, games and more to teach kids all about Polar Bears, Chameleons, Poison Dart Frogs, Monotremes and more. Animal anatomy, adaptations, diet, habitat, and more will be covered!  Materials Fee $25 (plush wild animal, chameleon slime and model, owl pellet, worksheets, t-shirt) payable to the instructor on the first day of camp. Please bring a lunch, snacks, and a beverage.
