Join the Boca Raton Historical Society for “Coffee & Conversation” on April 17, 2024!
April’s “Coffee & Conversation” will feature Mr. Abraham Lurie, a 102 year old WWII veteran. Quartermaster Lurie, originally from Brooklyn, served in the US Army from 1943-1946 and was stationed in England, France, and Belgium. After the war Lurie ran his own successful tool and machine factory, eventually retiring and moving to Florida. Mr. Lurie will be joined by Dr. Robert Watson, historian and Lynn University professor, who will be conducting an informal interview with Mr. Lurie. We invite our members and anyone interested to attend and ask questions of your own - this is a rare opportunity to speak to one of the fewer and fewer survivors of a worldwide event that still impacts our lives today.
