Dr. Jeanette Wyneken, Professor, Florida Atlantic University

Reservations: February 11

With more than 30 years of expertise studying the biology and conservation of sea turtles, Dr. Wyneken’ s research programs address how organisms interact with their environments. Her long-term studies of nest temperatures and primary sex ratios show how species differ in their responses to changing climate and weather conditions. Her FAU laboratory, located within the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex focuses on assessing how sex ratios in sea turtles are skewed as beaches continue to get hotter, and the potential implications of this.
