Explore the Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum’s virtual history exhibit Pearl City: A Community Remembers!
Learn more about the historic district of Pearl City, located in Boca Raton south of what is today Glades Boulevard between Dixie and Federal Highway. Established in 1915 for African American residents working on farms in Deerfield, this area of Boca is rich with the history of its residents.

Explore the Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum’s Virtual Exhibit “Life’s a Beach”
“Life’s a Beach” examines the history of Boca Raton from the perspective of her most beautiful asset, the beachfront. Learn about the first people to call Boca Raton home, the pre-Columbian Indians, who lived primarily in coastal areas here. See the beachfront that greeted our pioneers through many historic photographs. Find out about the importance of Boca’s beach during World War II. Enjoy these images and artifacts gleaned from the collections of the BRHS&M.
